Join the fight against Cystic Fibrosis on May 11th!
I will be playing a show with some local friends on May 11th at Hartigan’s Irish Pub to benefit the fight against Cystic Fibrosis! The show starts at 7PM and goes until Midnight, and I’ll be selling copies of my album “Arts and Crafts”
Full Line-Up:
TORONTO IN SUMMER
AMY BROOME
DEB O. NARE
JILL AUSTIN
Also, this is not a joke ^ I know it’s been years since she last played, but my Mom, Jill Austin, is playing a half-hour set, so if you didn’t see a reason to come out, now you have no excuse!
I’m recording again
This process is hard.
Arts and Crafts was a lot easier because it was so simple. The most complicated track on it consisted of an acoustic guitar, a piano, one vocal track, and a kick drum (that, admittedly, was a sample that I downloaded off of the internet). These new songs are so detailed. I’m dealing with the usual, Guitars and Pianos, but now there’s so much more to tackle: Ukeleles, Mandolins, Banjos, Full Drum Sets, Handclaps, and Harmonies. I’ve even been flirting with the Idea of hiring a friend to do some trumpet work on one particular song.
It’s been a really rewarding experience so far, though. Producing my own record makes me appreciate artistry and musicianship so much more. I’ll admit It’s not as consistently exciting as I would like it to be; If it was my option, I’d go into the studio with all of my equipment at one time for a month, leaving only to eat and sleep. Unfortunately, school gets in the way of that, necessary exercise gets in the way of that, and being fifteen gets in the way of that. I’m still working to record as much as I can in the time that I have to do it.
I do have some actual new information!
I am headlining at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s charity even at Hartigan’s in Charlotte on May 11th. I go on at 7, and the openers are Deb O. Nare and Amy Broome. I’ll be playing loads of new material and selling copies of my CD. Please come out and support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as they fight for a cure!
Till next time.
Thanksgiving Updates!
I haven’t updated my blog in a few months, so here ya go.
School started back a few months ago, which is a big part of my Tumblr absence. It’s been fine, but my songwriting has been severely affected because of a higher education or something. I had my one year anniversary with Nolan, my beautiful girlfriend and best friend. We went to the Renaissance Festival in North Carolina and had an amazing time, then I gave her her anniversary gift, which was a personalized necklace with our names on it, and she gave me mine, which was a photo album of all the amazing days we’ve spent together.
The Arts and Crafts EP is getting great reviews from the people who have checked it out, and you can check it out too here. I start recording my debut LP this January, and although I haven’t officially chosen a title for it, I’m thinking of calling it “Cover All Your Dreams”. The first official Single from it will be called “Clouds”.
I want to get the album out by August 2013 if I can. Those are all the updates I have for y’all; I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!
It came out yesterday, and the release show was INCREDIBLY fun, a good time was had by all. we walked in the building with 45 copies and sold every single one…If you didn’t get a chance to grab a physical copy, click the link to listen to the whole thing online!
I’ve been hovering between 190 and 200 followers for literally six months now. I abuse my twitter, half of it makes no sense, but follow it anyway.
I don’t like linking to explicit content, but this is great, coming form someone I look up to very much. She just swears a few times, you’ll live.
“I would love to meet you someday, perhaps high-five and talk about our coolness!”
Epiphany!
Jimmy Tamborello was one half of The Postal Service.
and now he makes electronica as Dntel.
Dntel has a song featuring Ben Gibbard.
Ben Gibbard was the other half of The Postal Service.

Oh yeah, I have a blog!
*neglected blog feels neglected*
Sorry, I’ve been busy. How is erebody? good. Anyway, updates:
“Arts and Crafts” EP drops in exactly a week. I borrowed my neighbors banjo, so I’ll be playing banjo at the release show (only on a few songs), and I’ll be bringing my trusty ‘ol uke, so Guitar, Ukelele and Banjo. AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!!!!!! well. Not really at the same time. I can try though. Also, the physical copies came in the mail! So that was exciting. I don’t know, there’s something about being able to hold a record that you wrote, recorded, produced, engineered, and everything else that gets you excited. Sorry there aren’t that many updates, most of my time these days is spent practicing for the release show. I promise, as soon as this thing releases, I’ll blog more about important things. honestly though, no one reads this pathetic blog anyway.
If you’re religious, please pray for Annalisa Brown.
And if you haven’t checked out Allison Weiss’s collaboration with Chris Mansfield, there is something horribly wrong with you.
